Measles case in Snohomish County is second identified in state
    4 hours ago

Public Health – Seattle and King County and the Snohomish County Health Department are investigating a positive case of measles, identified on March 17 in an adult resident of Snohomish County, the health department said in a news release. This case is linked to the first measles case identified in late February in King County. This new case was likely exposed at a location where the previous case had visited while contagious.

King and Snohomish County health departments assessed any potential public exposures while the individual was contagious and determined that there is no risk of measles to the general public from this new case...

An infant with measles who has yet to be vaccinated may have exposed others while traveling through the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Seattle Children’s hospital last week, according to King County health officials.

This is the fifth identified measles case in Washington this year and is not connected to any previous ones, three of whom also were infants, reported Public Health — Seattle & King County. The health department in a statement Tuesday said it’s likely the infant was exposed to the highly contagious disease while traveling internationally.

The measles virus is transmitted through contaminated air droplets and infected surfaces and can linger in the air for up to two hours after a contagious person leaves the area.

King County officials said people traveling through the following areas could have been exposed:

April 15 from 4:50 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. — Seattle-Tacoma International Airport S Concourse, customs and baggage claim at the International Arrivals Facility, and Gina Marie Hall at the south end of the main terminal.
      April 17 from 8:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. — Seattle Children’s hospital Emergency Department lobby.
      April 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. — Seattle Children’s hospital Emergency Department’s Forest B level 1 lobby and Forest Pharmacy.
April 18 from 11:50 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. — Seattle Children’s hospital Emergency Department’s Ocean 6, 7 and 8 lobbies, Ocean 7 Starbucks, Ocean 8 hallway to urgent care and Ocean 8 urgent care lobby.

SEATTLE — There are two new measles cases in King County, after Public Health – Seattle & King County confirmed that a child and their adult family member have the virus.

Health officials say the two live in the same household and visited multiple locations throughout the county while they were infectious.

The two were likely exposed while hosting an international visitor who reported feeling ill, Public Health – Seattle & King County wrote in a release. The visitor has since left the county and their measles status is unclear.

The child had one dose of the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccine, but the adult's vaccination status is unknown.

Health officials said the two new cases are unrelated to previous measles cases announced in the region. With these two cases, there have now been 10 confirmed cases of measles in Washington state...

              Measles Exposure in Spokane County
              Aug 19, 2025

Spokane, Wash. – Local public health officials have confirmed a measles infection in a Kootenai County resident with exposure risk in Spokane County.

Most people have immunity to the measles through vaccination, so the risk to the general public is low. However, with confirmation of measles virus here, Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) is advising individuals to check their children’s and their own vaccination status and verify that they are up-to-date with the measles mumps rubella (MMR) vaccine.

Before receiving the measles diagnosis, the individual was in the following public locations. Anyone who was at the following locations during the times listed was possibly exposed to measles:

Spokane County resident presumed to have measles following exposure, symptoms
                Aug. 25, 2025 Updated Tue., Aug. 26, 2025 at 8:34 a.m.
                By Amanda Sullender

Though test results have yet to confirm it, a Spokane County child has almost certainly contracted measles, according to local health officials.

The first case of measles in a Spokane County resident this year, the presumed diagnosis comes after two cases were identified in North Idaho earlier this month. One of those individuals traveled from Bonner County to Providence Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane to receive treatment before they were diagnosed.

It was during this visit where the Spokane County individual was likely infected. On Sunday, they received treatment for measles-like symptoms. Results from a measles test will not be available until Wednesday...

...The Spokane County resident is a child under 10. Their vaccination status is unknown, Hawkins said.

The case comes with a whole new set of exposures that may have taken place when the child received treatment Sunday. Anyone who was at the Providence Sacred Heart emergency department on Sunday, Aug. 24 between 6:08 a.m. and 10:41 a.m. was possibly exposed.

The following locations of potential measles exposure relate to the previous Bonner County, Idaho , case.

Tuesday, Aug. 12, 11:14 a.m.-5:27 p.m., Providence Sacred Heart Pediatric and Adult Emergency Departments
                .
Wednesday, Aug. 13, 6:02 p.m.-12:54 a.m., Providence Sacred Heart Pediatric and Adult Emergency Departments.
Friday, Aug. 15, 9:30 a.m.-8:27 p.m., Providence Sacred Heart Pediatric Oncology & Hematology Specialty Clinic.

According to Hawkins, the Spokane County child was not in any other public place since when they could have been infectious.

Asked if more measles cases are likely in Spokane County, Hawkins said that“would not be surprising.”...

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — More measles cases are likely after three unvaccinated children tested positive for the highly contagious virus earlier this week, according to Snohomish County Health Officer Dr. James Lewis.

The Snohomish Health Department has declared a measles outbreak.

The children who are ill were exposed to a family visiting from South Carolina, where a large measles outbreak is ongoing. The children developed fever, cough, and rashes consistent with measles and tested positive on Wednesday, Jan. 14.

Two of the cases are linked to Mukilteo School District schools, which include Serene Lake Elementary School and Pathfinder Kindergarten Center. Both campuses were closed on Thursday and Friday while health experts and district officials coordinate their next steps.

Students who are not immunized for measles have been asked to stay home and avoid public places through Jan. 30, the district said...

Measles Confirmed In Clark Co. Adult
                              January 24, 2026 8:44AM PST

Vancouver, Wash. – Public health officials in southwest Washington are investigating a confirmed case of measles in Clark County. They say the adult’s vaccination status is unverified; they recently traveled to an area experiencing a measles outbreak.

The person was reportedly at Ridgefield High School while contagious, on January 14, 15 and 16. “People who were at Ridgefield High School those days and who have not been vaccinated against measles or have not had measles in the past are at risk for getting sick,” says Clark County Public Health. No other locations have been identified as potential exposure sites.

The case follows three confirmed cases of measles in Oregon since the first of the year; two in Linn County and one in Clackamas County. A substantial outbreak of the disease is also underway in the southwestern U.S...
