Mumps is on the rise in Somerset again with four cases reported last week - that is as many cases as scarlet fever in the same week.
Mumps was a lot more common before the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine but cases of the contagious viral infection still appear once in a while.
In the week between February 19 and 25, one case was reported in Mendip, one in Taunton Deane, one in West Somerset and one in South Somerset.
