    The current number of confirmed cases of mumps in Onondaga County is now 24, according to county Health Department officials. The number of probable cases is 27.

    The majority of cases come from Syracuse University, which has seen a rise in cases in the last week, health officials said. As of Friday, SU Health Services said the university had 22 confirmed cases and 19 probable cases...

      Mumps, measles and rubella booster vaccinations are being offered to Syracuse University students as the number of mumps cases in the county continues to steadily increase.

      During a news conference Monday, Onondaga County Health Commissioner Dr. Indu Gupta said there are currently 27 confirmed cases of mumps in the county and a further 47 probable cases. A running tally is being updated on the county's website daily.

      Two of the probable cases involve non-Syracuse University students, though one of those cases does have a tie to the university, Dr. Gupta said. All of the remaining cases affect Syracuse University students...

        Syracuse University is offering thousands of free booster shots of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine to fight an ongoing outbreak of mumps that has infected at least 27 people on campus.

        Syracuse University is offering athletes and undergraduates a free 3rd dose of the MMR vaccine during two clinics in Flanagan Gymnasium on October 26 and October 27 between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

        Students are being asked to avoid risky behaviors such as kissing, sharing eating utensils, and drinks. ?This includes drinking games,? the university wrote to students in an e-mail on Monday afternoon.

        Dr. Indu Gupta, Onondaga County Health Commissioner, has confirmed 27 cases of mumps and 50 probable cases among students, athletes, and other people with links to Syracuse University...
