    GUELPH ? Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is investigating an outbreak of mumps at two Guelph high schools, the first cases of the disease in the area since 2010.

    Chuck Ferguson, spokesperson for the health unit, said there are two reported cases of mumps at two different Catholic high schools, Bishop Macdonell and Our Lady of Lourdes.

    "We haven't determined a link between the cases and there are four suspected cases in total that we're investigating," Ferguson said Thursday...

    GUELPH ?The number of confirmed cases of mumps in the city has gone from two to four, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health officials say, and over three dozen kids were kept home from their high school earlier this week as a result of the outbreak.

    The health unit is investigating the cause of a mumps outbreak in two local high schools, Bishop Macdonell and Our Lady of Lourdes. They are the first cases of the disease reported in the region since 2010.

    Health unit spokesperson Chuck Ferguson said Friday there are now four laboratory confirmed cases at Bishop Macdonell.

    People can protect themselves from the mumps by getting the free Measles, Mumps Rubella (MMR) childhood vaccine. Two doses are required...

        Guelph-area mumps outbreak now at 14 confirmed cases

        GUELPH ? There are now 14 confirmed cases of mumps in the area and the illness has impacted students at at least three local schools, according to the local health unit.

        Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public health reported Tuesday that the volume of local mumps cases has risen and students at the Bishop Macdonell, John F. Ross and Our Lady of Lourdes high schools in Guelph are tied to the outbreak.
