Health Officials Investigating Cases of the Mumps in Charlottesville

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) - Several health professionals in Charlottesville say they've confirmed at least five cases of the mumps in the past week.
The Thomas Jefferson Health District says it has seen an increase in the number of reported mumps cases, including two cases reported in the Charlottesville area since April 1. The health district says its doing everything it can to contain the virus.
The health department has not named a specific clinic or care provider that's seen these recent cases of the mumps. It says its staff has isolated each report and continues to investigate the origin. They also offer advice and education to any person that has been around an infected individual...
