Summary description
The country has had anthrax suspected outbreaks in Arua, Kween and Kiruhura districts. These outbreaks have resulted in human and animal deaths.
There were sporadic rainfall patterns largely characterized by flooding, communal free rangeland grazing system, cultural orientation of the local population, poverty, consumption of dead animals and uninspected meat by veterinarians.

Nineteen people were in April infected following the outbreak of the disease in Arua District.
