TORONTO - Infectious diseases kill nearly 4,900 people in Ontario each year, and cause more than seven million illnesses, estimates a report released Tuesday.
The study looked at the burden of illness ? healthy years lost ? and found the top 10 culprits were hepatitis C, Streptococcus pneumoniae, human papillomavirus, hepatitis B, E. coli, HIV-AIDS, Staphylococcus aureus, influenza, C. difficile and rhinoviruses, or the common cold...
