Some 11 people killed in Yemen due to epidemic diseases

SANA'A, July 09 (Saba) - Four persons including a child died of diarrhoea epidemic last week in Lahj governorate and 127 others are inflicted with this epidemic.

Meanwhile, seven children died of the epidemic in Hajjah governorate during the last week and 200 people were inflicted with the epidemic, medical sources in Hajjah have said.

The sources emphasized that the causes behind the death were malaria that hit the brain of the deceased as a result of mosquitoes spreading in the area, shouldering the local authorities in Hajjah governorate the responsibility for swiftly tackling this dangerous epidemic.

Dengue Fever quickly spreads in Yemen's provinces

Sahwa Net- An official medical report has revealed the increase of Dengue Fever inflicted cases in Hadhramout governorate, pointing out that 12 cases died and 1442 others were discovered.



Several Yemeni governorates are suffering from spread of this epidemic; Taiz, Aden , Abyan , Lahj and Shabwa.



The governor of Shabwa governorate Ali al-Ahmdi has demanded the Yemeni Prime Minister Ali Mujawar to swiftly order the Ministry of Public Health and Population taking urgent measures to end the spread of Dengue fever across the governorate.



The rain and leakage of sewage are the main reasons for the spread of mosquitoes that transmit the disease, according to a heath official.
