            Egypt reports three more cases of A/H1N1

            Egyptian Health authorities announced on Monday three new cases of influenza A/H1N1, bringing the number of such cases to 23 in the populous Arab country, Ministry of health said in statement.

            According to the statement, two cases are for an American woman, 38 years old, and her daughter, 13 years old, who arrived from the United States on June 5, while the third case is a Sudanese woman,49 years old.

            The three cases were hospitalized in where they received Tamiflu and their conditions were stable.

            On June 2, Egypt reported its first A/H1N1 flu case, who was a 12-year-old Egyptian-American girl coming from the United States via the Netherlands.

            Egypt reported seven A/H1N1 flu cases at a dorm of the American University in Cairo (AUC) and the health ministry quarantined the dorm, which accommodates 110 students and 124 teachers, for seven days.

            Egypt, the most populous Arab country that was hit hard by the fatal bird flu in 2006, decided in late April to cull all the pigs in the country to stem the highly infectious flu.

                            30th swine flu infection detected in Egypt

                            A new infection with the type H1N1 was detected Thursday 18/6/2009, bringing the total number of infections with the virus in Egypt to 30, according to the Health Ministry official spokesman.

                            Dr. Abdel Rahman Shahin said the 30th infection with the swine flu is of a 34 year-old Sudanese woman.

                            The lady tested positive to the H1N1 and was held in hospital and given the Tamiflu, he added. Her health condition is now stable, according to the spokesman.

                            A 12 year-old Syrian teenager, holding the American nationality, recovered from swine flu and left hospital, bringing the number of those who had recovered from the virus to 16, the spokesman said. Fourteen cases are still receiving medical treatment at hospitals, he added.

                              أعلن الدكتور عبد الرحمن شاهين شفاء 4 حالات جديدة من مصابى أنفلونزا الخنازير، ليصل عدد الحالات التى تم شفاؤها إلى 20 حالة خرجوا جميعهم من المستشفى ليمارسوا حياتهم العادية.

                              مشيرا إلى تفاصيل حالات الإصابات الجديدة التى تم تسجيلها اليوم، الجمعة، والبالغ عددها حالتين ليصل إجمالى الحالات إلى 32 حالة. الحالة الأولى لطفل سودانى كندى الجنسية على صلة بالعائلة السودانية المصابة والتى سجلت 6 حالات إصابة حتى الآن، آخرها كانت بالأمس لأحد أصدقاء العائلة.

                              أما الحالة الثانية فهى لشابة مصرية عمرها 26 عاما صديقة الشاب المصرى ويعملان معا فى فندق سوفيتيل الهرم وقد تم عزل أسرتها وأخذ عينات منهم للتأكد من خلوهم من المرض.
