    No fewer than 12 people have been confirmed dead following the outbreak of diarrhoea in Gada village in Mashegu local government area of Niger State.

    It was gathered that the villagers witnessed the outbreak after the breakdown of the borehole in the village that forced them to rely on the stream in the village for drinking water.

    7 die in gastroenteritis outbreak in Jigawa

    Hadejia (Jigawa) ? Commissioner for Health in Jigawa, Dr Tafida Abubakar, on Wednesday said an outbreak of gastroenteritis in Hadejia community in Hadejia Local Government Area had claimed seven lives.

    Abubakar told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)) in Hadejia that the deaths were recorded on Monday and Tuesday.

    He disclosed that no fewer than 306 persons were also affected by the disease and had been treated at the General Hospital in the community...

      Seven persons died in an outbreak of gastroenteritis in Hadejia community of Hadeija Local Government Area of Jigawa State, the Commissioner for Health in the state, Tafida Abubakar, said on Wednesday.

      Mr. Abubakar said the deaths were recorded on Monday and Tuesday.

      Gastroenteritis is the inflammation of the stomach and intestines and occurs as diarrhoea and vomiting.

      He disclosed that no fewer than 306 persons were also affected by the disease and are receiving treatment at the General Hospital in the community...
