A flow of two-wave arrival of the Chinese culprits droplet transmission
    2009-10-18

BEIJING, Sept.】 "At present, mainland China Influenza H1N1 influenza viruses spread faster, the epidemic spread to increasingly wide range of incidence for a rapid growth trend, it can be said that the second wave of H1N1 influenza outbreak has begun." This is the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Zeng Guang, chief epidemiologist of the latest judge to make today.

According to China news agency, Beijing, October 18 -, Zeng Guang in Beijing, Chinese Medical Association concluded the first national academic conference on public health: As the seasons change, the southern hemisphere influenza pandemic H1N1 influenza peak flattening, in the northern hemisphere of the epidemic began rapidly increased. China and the northern hemisphere, the same trend, the recent day when the number of cases equivalent to 10 days prior to January, especially since September, many schools in different parts of epidemic outbreaks in the same period, indicating a rapid spread into the period, that is commonly known as the "first Second wave "began to spread.

He believes that: The current epidemic development ferocious, to small and medium cities and rapid dissemination of central and western regions has become a trend, and unlike in the past progressive mode from abroad, but by a huge number of internal migrants, by train, automobile, aircraft, ships and other modes of transport widespread, often serious community after the outbreak was discovered, but not having any of the various inter-city line of defense. Prevention and control due to a lack of experience in these areas may lead to a rapid increase of cases, there bulk critical cases, is to prevent weak areas, is likely to be a decisive battle with the main battlefield.

To this end, he dons, the past, "outside the block type" success is no longer appropriate, timely adjustment of control strategies to study and formulate medium-sized cities and the Midwest region's problems and countermeasures, improve the "early detection and isolation of the local first case, discovery and The first community control over local outbreak, where the first cases of locally severe cases. " He suggested that experts organize the central and local response and timely detection of serious argument, summed up and promotion of local experience.

Zeng Guang stressed that the current capacity of hospitals to rescue a serious shortage of critically ill patients is the most prominent of the "weakness"; he was worried that in some areas also showed a larger number of critical cases, exceeding the capacity of local hospitals for treatment, but can not organize external assistance. Prevent this situation would be to firmly implement the comprehensive prevention and treatment measures to slow transmission speed, so that dangerous situation does not occur simultaneously. He said he had stated, "China influenza pandemic severity of grading standards proposals."

Zeng Guang, chaired by an influenza A H1N1 influenza epidemiological investigation found that: the spread of flu outbreak culprit is respiratory droplets. In the United States CDC latest issue of "Emerging Infectious Diseases," published in the survey report: The patient's speech or coughing, through droplet transmission of the virus to others is a major route of transmission of the outbreak, but have not found that the spread of viruses through the air evidence.

Zeng Guang said that the enhanced flow against the A's confidence, it is a higher level of protection do not have to wear masks, do not have to disinfect the air can be by changing the behavior, to develop good personal hygiene to protect themselves. _

Should be truly build good health habits:

Conversations between people do not face as much as possible to keep the two meters outside the anti-droplets "safe distance"; wash their hands, change clothes; sneeze, cover nose and mouth with toilet paper. Patients should take the initiative to report the first time, wearing a mask, conscious rest, isolation; schools, factories, companies, military barracks, and cells should be effective implementation of prevention and control measures, adhere to examine morning newly, early reporting, early control, the suspension of classes, lay-off should be resolute, do not leave things to chance.

NPC Standing Committee Vice Chairman, Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Medical Association and the Chinese Han Qide preventive medicine, food hygiene, health, management of more than 320 delegates attended the meetinghttp://www.takungpao.com/news/09/10/...03-1158084.htm

China began a second wave of influenza A H1N1 influenza
    [18/10 Sunday 11:01]

Mainland disease control experts, means that the second wave of influenza A H1N1 influenza has begun. Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Zeng Guang, chief epidemiologist said the number of cases occurred in the recent day, equivalent to a month ago on the 10th the total number of cases, especially in the beginning in September, schools in different regions, while the outbreak, the current epidemic to the medium-sized cities, and central and western regions through various means of transport, rapid spread of imported with the past progressive patterns are different, due to inter-city non-defense, some of the lack of prevention and control experience, may lead to a rapid increase of cases, there bulk critical illness.

Zeng Guang-sponsored survey found that the spread of flu outbreak culprit is respiratory droplets, rather than airborne, there is no need to wear protective masks a higher level is available through good personal hygiene to protect themselves, including conversations between people, should keep a safe distance from 2 meters away and wash their hands, change clothes, and to use toilet paper cover nose and mouth when sneezing.http://www1.881903.com/apps/newsBoss...1010364500.htm

Re: The Second Wave of H1N1 Influenza Outbreak Has Begun.

      Thanks Trey!
It appears almost certain hehe that the second wave has OFFICIALLY begun, and the quarantining of foreign visitors with fevers no longer prevents the domestic H2H spread...but we all know that it only truly has begun when OFFICIALDOM says it has begun. I notice there's no official figures offered, not one single statistic given as an overview, no number of cases, confirmeds, hospitalized, ICUs, deaths...but what else would we expect from a high official when all the lesser officials won't confirm or deny any cases either, awaiting other bureaucrats' pending processes. So what we have here is a failure to communicate...power has completely window dressed the tragedy like some beautiful Balinese Sawang rice-paper-screen shadow puppet pageant.

Yes we have plans! Yes we have flu! Stay 2 meters apart and wash our hands regularly. We would be better off if someone would simply stand naked before these masters and request they take their clothes off as well and take a deep breath and tell us all whatever they really KNOW.

Perhaps someone will develop little mobile body-encapsulating plastic bubblesuits for the fashion conscious so we can all enfold ourselves within, biz as usual, and the air could be filtered and all contact could be officially forbidden other than for official state-sanctioned purposes hehe.....the rest could all be done by remote from HQ...and the PR spin... tres apropos....that's why i like democracies, at least one can attempt to reform the processes and mindsets of silence, denials, spin and secrecy towards transparency, truth and oversight, and checks and balances. Still I'm sure this gentleman is to be highly commended for his candor.

Chinese mainland reports 33,000 A/H1N1 influenza cases
        www.chinaview.cn 2009-10-24 00:36:31

BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese mainland reported 2,024 confirmed cases of the A/H1N1 influenza in the 48 hours ending at 3 p.m. Friday, bringing the total number to 33,064, the Ministry of Health said Friday.

So far, a total of 26,588 patients have recovered. Fourteen of 44 patients in serious conditions have been cured, the ministry said.

China is currently experiencing what experts called "a second round of A/H1N1 flu infection," as recent infections are more widespread and increasing rapidly.

The disease has also caused two deaths on the Chinese mainland -- an 18-year-old woman in Tibet who died on Oct. 4, and a 43-year-old woman who died last Friday in the northwestern province of Qinghai.
