Recently, a 32-year-old healthy male patient in Shanghai was rushed to the emergency department of Jiading Branch of Ruijin Hospital by 120 for "fever with cough and sputum for 1 day". Emergency examination showed positive for influenza A, and the pulse oxygen was only 54% (normal value is 95%~100%). His condition deteriorated rapidly and he fell into a coma. CT showed that his lungs were "white lungs", and a total of 5 organs were affected!
Combined with the patient's medical history, laboratory and auxiliary examinations, the patient was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia (severe) caused by influenza A virus , acute respiratory distress syndrome (severe) and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (a total of 5 organs). After endotracheal intubation, the man was admitted to the intensive care unit.
Faced with the patient's critical condition, doctors decided to use VV-ECMO as the most effective and key measure to improve hypoxia and hypercapnia and allow the lungs to rest.

After 12 days , the patient was successfully removed from the machine and transferred to a non-invasive ventilator. After 17 days of treatment, the patient was finally successfully transferred out of the intensive care unit .

The chief physician of the respiratory department who received her learned that she still had repeated fevers and coughed up thick yellow sputum after taking Sufuda orally to fight the influenza virus, so he immediately arranged for relevant examinations.
