The number of new crown cases in Beijing has nearly quadrupled!
Expert: Do not rule out "two yangs" after "three yangs"

The Beijing Municipal Health Commission recently released the weekly epidemic report for the 21st week of this year (May 22 to May 28). In the 21st week, a total of 30,750 cases of 16 statutory infectious diseases were reported in Beijing. The top five diseases with the highest number of reported cases are: novel coronavirus infection, other infectious diarrheal diseases, influenza, tuberculosis, and syphilis, accounting for 99.0% of the reported cases of legal infectious diseases.

Statistics show that the number of reported cases of new coronavirus infection in Beijing has been ranked first for five consecutive weeks. From the 17th to the 21st week, the number of notifiable infectious diseases reported in the city was 6438, 10508, 18081, 25544, and 30750.

According to the Municipal Health and Health Commission, the number of reported cases of legal infectious diseases in Beijing in the 21st week increased compared with last week, and respiratory infectious diseases were the main reported diseases, accounting for 97.1% of the reported cases.

Multiple infections cannot be ruled out

A professor of epidemiology at the West China School of Public Health, Sichuan University, said that the repeated occurrence of "two yang" and "three yang" and other subsequent multiple infections cannot be ruled out. Antibodies can still help reduce the risk of infection, and even if re-infected later, the symptoms will be reduced and the course of the disease will be shortened.

Multiple infections have a certain impact on the body

Wang Guiqiang, director of the Infectious Diseases Department of Peking University First Hospital, said in the State Council's joint prevention and control mechanism response that from the research data, repeated infection with the new coronavirus may have a certain impact on severe high-risk groups, including aggravating the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes, etc. .

Hu Yang, deputy director of the Department of Respiratory Medicine of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, said in an article on his WeChat official account on May 30 that, generally speaking, after a new crown infection, the patient's white blood cells and neutrophils will decrease, which in itself will lead to the body's immune response. Low immunity, which is also the reason why many people have repeated throat discomfort during this period of time. In fact, low immunity after the new crown infection will cause many sequelae.

In addition, for patients with severe pneumonia in the previous infection, if the sequelae are not completely cured, there is still a higher chance of re-infection after this re-infection. Any life-threatening disease affects survival by reducing lung function. Time has an impact.

What harm will it do to the body if infected with the new crown multiple times?

What harm will it do to the body if infected with the new crown multiple times? A related study, published in the November 2022 issue of Nature Medicine, is one of the first to focus on multiple infections. Research and observation data show that repeated infection can cause damage to some important organ systems.

The study noted that the risks of multiple infections include:

Increased risk of all-cause death, increased risk of hospitalization; increased risk of new coronary pneumonia and chronic fatigue; increased risk of heart disease and coagulation disorders; increased risk of gastrointestinal and renal diseases; increased risk of pulmonary sequelae...

Therefore, even if the symptoms of "two yang" are mild, don't take it seriously; including multiple infections, the idea that immunity will be better trained is not right.
