"In the next few years, Russia will substantially increase its exports of poultry to China." Russia’s Tass news agency reported on the 19th that Russian Agriculture Minister Patrushev said on the same day: "In the next few years, Russian poultry enterprises have the ability to China. The market supplies about 150,000 tons of poultry meat. China imports about 500,000 tons of poultry meat a year, which provides a large export growth space for Russian manufacturers."
According to the report, Russian meat exports reached 280,500 tons in 2018, an increase of 21% over the previous year. Among them, lamb exports reached 12,400 tons, pork exports reached nearly 84,000 tons, poultry meat reached 188,000 tons, and beef was 4,350 tons.
The Russian Federation's Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision Bureau also said on the 19th that China has approved seven Russian poultry companies to export chicken meat to China on the 18th. At present, 30 Russian companies have the qualification to supply poultry meat to China. Russia is one of the top five meat producers in the world. After the outbreak of avian flu in Russia in 2005, Russian poultry producers entered the Chinese channel and closed. The bureau said that the export of frozen chicken and chicken by-products to China should have the certificate of the Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. (Liu Yupeng)
