Our reporter Hu Hailin reported: "Report, two pigs raised by farmers in this village died of unknown causes." "It is forbidden to move pigs, feed and other pig farm accessories, take personal protection measures, and arrange experts to the scene immediately." Subsequently, fully armed epidemic response personnel rushed to the scene, and testing, culling, disinfection, and monitoring were carried out in an orderly manner. This is a scene from the emergency drill for major animal epidemics in the province on December 12.
This exercise, from the monitoring and discovery of the epidemic, to the reporting of the epidemic, to the efficient initiation of emergency response; from the precise blockade of the epidemic area, the harmless treatment of sick animals, to the comprehensive and thorough disinfection and elimination of the source, and the subsequent evaluation of the epidemic relief, all links are closely connected and linked. The province-wide major animal epidemic prevention and control exercise is held to promote combat through training, and to enhance the province's early warning, rapid response, and coordinated combat capabilities for major animal epidemics.
Our province is located on an important global migratory route for migratory birds. In recent years, animal epidemics such as avian influenza and African swine fever have frequently occurred in neighboring countries, and the risk of external epidemics being introduced is relatively high. At present, the situation of major animal epidemics in our province is generally stable, but there is still great pressure on the prevention and control of major animal epidemics and zoonoses.
In recent years, our province has continuously improved the emergency management system. This year, we also adjusted and established the Provincial Emergency Command Center for the Prevention and Control of Major Animal Epidemics, so as to form a strong working force when responding to major animal epidemics and ensure that decisions and deployments are accurately and quickly transmitted to each execution terminal.
