      A HEAVY HEART: 4-yo is Ja’s 7th COVID-19 fatality

      A four-year-old has died from COVID-19 at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, St James.

      Minister of Health and Wellness Dr Christopher Tufton tweeted the tragic news late Thursday night.

      “It is with a heavy heart that we inform the nation of the death of a 4-year-old, who tested positive for the COVID-19… We express our sincerest condolences to the family,” Tufton tweeted.

      He did not disclose the child’s gender or give any further details.

      The child’s death brings to seven the number of fatalities from the virus in Jamaica.

      The island has recorded 257 cases of the coronavirus.
      "The only security we have is our ability to adapt."

              KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Health & Wellness Dr Christopher Tufton has advised that 16 samples tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

                  KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Christopher Tufton has reported 32 new cases of COVID-19 within the past 48 hours, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 396.

                  Of the new cases, 15 are associated with the Alorica call centre in Portmore, St Catherine, 11 are contacts of confirmed cases, one is imported and five are under investigation, Tufton informed in an update from the ministry's office in New Kingston...

                    KINGSTON, Jamaica – The death toll from COVID-19 increased by one to eight today.

                    The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported that the deceased is a 63-year-old female form St Catherine, who was a contact of a confirmed case.

                    Twenty-six more people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the country over the past 24 hours.

                    This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 422...

                      10 new cases; 2 additional recoveries

                      The National Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health & Wellness has reported that in the last 24 hours, 10 samples have tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Jamaica to 432.

                      Of the 10 new cases, there are 2 males and 8 females, with ages ranging from 2 years to 49 years. The new cases comprise of one (1) employee of the workplace cluster in St. Catherine, seven (7) contacts of employees in the workplace cluster in St. Catherine and two (2) persons are under investigation.

                      There are now 205 confirmed COVID-19 cases related to the workplace cluster. The cases are primarily from the parishes of St Catherine and Kingston and St. Andrew. Their ages range from 18 to 53 years. They include 154 females and 51 males. Of note following investigations one (1) previously confirmed case was reclassified and placed within the workplace cluster...

                          Jamaica records another death due to COVID-19 - tally now 469

                          A 72 year old man has become the country’s ninth fatality that is being attributed to COVID-19.

                          In the latest update concerning the spread of the virus, health officials today reported that there were six new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of confirmed cases to 469.

                          The island now has 35 imported cases; 161 are contacts of a confirmed case; nine are local transmission cases not epidemiologically-linked, and 264 are under investigation...
