Thursday, July 23, 2020. As of July 23, the country registers 768 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 13,129 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 99 years. There are 5875 women and 7254 men, of whom 9382 are Costa Rican and 3747 are foreigners.
Positive cases are counted in 81 cantons. By age we have: 10 694 adults, 742 older adults and 1581 minors, 112 are under investigation.
3448 recovered people are registered in 79 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range of zero to 96 years, of which 1520 are women and 1928 are men, by age we have: 2725 adults, 147 older adults, 512 minors and 64 are under investigation.
290 people are hospitalized, 43 of them in intensive care with an age range of 26 to 83 years.
9 deaths are added, reaching 80 in total, of which 27 are women and 53 men, with an age range of 23 to 94 years.

- 76-year-old man, Costa Rican, resident of Heredia. He was admitted to CEACO, being diagnosed on July 13. He suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes.
- 74-year-old man, Costa Rican, a resident of San Jos?. He was admitted to the San Juan de Dios Hospital, being diagnosed on July 12. In addition to age, he had a history of cerebrovascular disease.
- 71-year-old man, Costa Rican, a resident of San Jos?. He was admitted to the San Juan de Dios Hospital, being diagnosed on July 2. He suffered from high blood pressure and asthma.
- 66-year-old man, Costa Rican, a resident of San Jos?. He was admitted to the Calder?n Guardia Hospital, being diagnosed on July 9. He suffered from high blood pressure and obesity.
- 40-year-old man, a foreigner, a resident of San Jos?. He was admitted to the Mexico Hospital, being diagnosed on July 20. He suffered from high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease and obesity.
- 94-year-old man, Costa Rican, neighbor of Guanacaste. He was admitted to the Liberia Hospital, being diagnosed on July 13. The only associated risk factor was age.
- 85-year-old man, Costa Rican, a resident of San Jos?. He was admitted to the San Juan de Dios Hospital, being diagnosed on July 23. In addition to age, he suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes.
- 63-year-old man, Costa Rican, resident of Heredia. He was admitted to CEACO, being diagnosed on July 14. He suffered from high blood pressure and diabetes.
- 52-year-old man, Costa Rican, a resident of San Jos?. He was admitted to the Mexico Hospital, being diagnosed on July 21. He suffered from diabetes and kidney disease.
