33 084 confirmed cases of COVID-19
Saturday August 22, 2020 . As of August 22, the country registers 950 new cases of COVID-19, of which 173 are by epidemiological link and 777 by laboratory, for a total of 33,084 confirmed cases, with an age range of zero to 100 years. There are 15,345 women and 17,739 men, of whom 24,927 are Costa Rican and 8157 are foreigners.
Positive cases are counted in 82 cantons. By age we have: 27,816 adults, 2,063 older adults and 3,044 minors, 161 are under investigation.
10,372 recovered people are registered in 80 cantons. The recovered cases have an age range from zero to 96 years, of which 4646 are women and 5726 are men, by age we have: 8529 adults, 501 older adults, 1280 minors and 62 are under investigation.
386 people are hospitalized, 131 of them in intensive care with an age range of one to 94 years.
For today eight unfortunate deaths are reported: six men, and two women, with an age range of 51 to 97 years.
In total, 348 deaths related to COVID-19 are counted: 129 women and 219 men, with an age range of 21 to 100 years.
