Note: For privacy reasons Castanet will not reveal the name of the woman involved in the following story.

A 55-year-old Kelowna woman is on induced life support in Kelowna General Hospital battling the affects of the H1N1 virus.

She has been in the Critical Care Unit at KGH since Jan 3.

According to her husband (we'll call him Steve) she appears to have contracted the virus while on vacation in Las Vegas.

The family was in Vegas for a week over Christmas...

Flu stricken woman on road to recovery

You may recall a story Castanet brought you a few weeks ago concerning a Kelowna woman fighting for her life after contracting the H1N1 flu strain.

Good news - the woman, who we will not identify for privacy reasons, is out of an induced coma and on the road to recovery.

According to her husband, she was recently transferred from the Critical Care Unit to rehab where she will undergo occupational therapy.
