      REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan reported 199 new COVID-19 cases and 205 recoveries on Thursday.

      Nine newly screened variants of concern were also detected. The 1,682 total variant cases that were identified through screening are located in the Far North East (one), North Central (nine), Saskatoon (53), Central West (five), Central East (27), Regina (1,348), South West (one), South Central (129) and South East (109) zones.

      The 199 new cases are located in the Far North East (three), North Central (nine), North East (10), Saskatoon (14), Central West (one), Central East (five), Regina (115), South West (one), South Central (13) and South East (28) zones.

      No COVID-19-related deaths were reported on Thursday.

      A total of 193 people are in hospital in the province due to the virus, including 34 people in intensive care...

        Saskatchewan reported 280 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday ? the single greatest daily increase in cases since January.

        No new cases involving the more transmissible coronavirus variants of concern (VOC) were reported in Saskatchewan today, confirmed by whole genome sequencing, according to a news release from the province.

        As of Saturday, 2,226 variants of concern have been identified in the province, and these cases are continuing to rise across southern Saskatchewan, particularly in the Moose Jaw and Weyburn areas. The Regina area still accounts for 84 per cent of the VOC cases with confirmed lineage reported in the province.

        Of the 34,323 known COVID-19 cases to date in the province, 2,143 are considered active. 1078 of the active cases are in Regina...

          REGINA -- There are 86 new variant of concern (VoC) cases in Saskatchewan and 219 new cases of COVID-19, the Government of Saskatchewan reported Monday

          One more Saskatchewan resident has died of COVID-19; a person in their 60s in the Saskatoon area. There have been 440 deaths in Saskatchewan related to COVID-19.

          There are 86 new VoC cases in Saskatchewan on Sunday. To date the province has recorded 2,453 cases of VoC in the province.

          The government is reminding residents that VoC cases continue to rise in Southern Saskatchewan, specifically in Moose Jaw and Weyburn.

          CASES AND HOSPITALIZATIONS

          One-hundred ninety-five Saskatchewan residents are being treated in hospital for COVID-19. The province set a new record number of ICU admissions for the third consecutive day on Monday with 47. Thirty-one patients are being treated for COVID-19 in Regina ICUs.

          There are 2,202 cases active in Saskatchewan. The seven-day average of daily new cases is 218 or 17.8 new cases per 100,000 people. The province reported 212 more recoveries on Monday...

            Saskatchewan health officials are reporting 217 new cases of COVID-19 and three related deaths on the day the provincial government releases its 2021-2022 budget. The number of people under intensive care also remains high at 44.

            The majority of the new cases announced Tuesday, 97, were in the Regina area, which is under enhanced COVID-19 public health guidelines due to the spread of COVID-19 variants in the area.

            The rest of the new cases were reported in the following areas: far northwest (five), northwest (11), north central (three), northeast (two), Saskatoon (30), central east (17), southwest (one), south central (14), and southeast (36) zones. One new case has pending residence information. Two cases that previously had pending residence information have been assigned to the Regina zone.

            The new cases were based on 2,924 tests being processed...

              REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan announced two COVID-19 related deaths on Wednesday and 189 new cases. One death was a person in their 30s.

              Another 153 variants of concern (VOC) were also confirmed.

              The province also announced it is extending all public health measures to April 26.

              VARIANTS OF CONCERN

              As of Wednesday, a total of 2,830 VOC were confirmed in Saskatchewan.

              The variant cases have been identified in the Far North West (two), Far North East (four) North West (six), North Central (19), Saskatoon (178), Central West (12), Central East (60), Regina (1,986), South West (14), South Central (245) and South East (232) zones.

              Another 72 variant cases are pending residence information.

              2 DEATHS, 189 NEW CASES, 246 RECOVERIES

              The two new deaths include one person in their 30s from the North Central zone and one from the 80-plus age group from the Regina zone.

              There are 2,138 active COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan.

                REGINA -- Saskatchewan reported 205 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, along with two more deaths and 200 recoveries.

                One person who died was in their 70s and from the Southeast zone; a second person was older than 80 and from the Saskatoon zone. There have been 447 COVID-related deaths in Saskatchewan since the start of the pandemic.

                The new cases are located in the Far Northwest (four), Far North Central (one), Far Northeast (four), North West (three), North Central (four), Northeast (five), Saskatoon (32), Central West (one), Central East (nine), Regina (91), Southwest (six), South Central (21), and Southeast (23) zones. The location of one new case is pending residence information.

                VARIANTS OF CONCERN

                The province identified an additional 118 variants of concern (VoC) Thursday.

                So far, there have been 2,948 VoC cases identified through screening. These cases were reported in the Far Northwest (two), Far Northeast (four), Northwest (six), North Central (21), Saskatoon (189), Central West (12), Central East (64), Regina (2,107), Southwest (18), South Central (260), and South East (246) zones.

                The number of identified VoC cases has increased by more than 1,000 since April 1, when there were 1,682 total VoC identified.

                There are 951 variant cases that have been confirmed through whole genome sequencing. There are 943 B.1.1.1.7 ? which originated in the U.K. ? and eight are B.1.3.5.1, the variant that was first detected in South Africa...

                      REGINA -- There are 321 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, the province reported Sunday.

                        Manitoba reports 112 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday and no new deaths, a provincial news release says.

                        The province is warning the public of possible exposures to a more contagious coronavirus variant on Winnipeg Transit earlier this month.

                        The public may have been exposed to the B117 coronavirus variant first found in the U.K. on the following routes:...

                        ...Of the new cases, most ? 65 ? are in the Winnipeg health region, the province said in a news release.

                        There are also 27 new cases in the Northern health Region, nine in the Prairie Mountain Health region, seven in the Interlake-Eastern health region and four in the Southern Health region.


                        Sunday marks the fifth day in a row where daily case numbers were in the triple digits.

                        There are now 136 COVID-19 patients in hospital in Manitoba, down by five since Saturday. Of those, 31 people are in intensive care, down by one.
                        Test positivity rises

                        Manitoba's five-day test positivity rate has steadily risen from 3.9 per cent at the beginning of April.

                        On Sunday, it increased to 5.9 per cent, up from 5.7 per cent on Saturday. In Winnipeg, the rate jumped to 5.7 per cent, up from 5.2 the day before.

                        There have been 35,213 COVID-19 cases identified in Manitoba since the start of the pandemic, including 32,952 deemed recovered and 1,312 still considered active...

                          For the fifth straight day, Saskatchewan?s active COVID-19 cases have increased and now sit at 2,549. This is the highest number reported since Jan. 26, when it was 2,665.

                          In the daily update, the death toll rose by one, and there have now been 455 COVID-19-related deaths in Saskatchewan since the pandemic began. The recently deceased was in their 60s from the Regina zone, according to a press release.

                          Health officials said on Monday there were 300 new cases, with the overall infection total in Saskatchewan now at 36,604.

                          The new seven-day average of new daily infections is up from 249 on April 11 to 261. The last time the average was reported higher was on Jan. 25 at 265...

                            REGINA -- The Government of Saskatchewan reported 288 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths on Tuesday.

                            Public Health Orders were also expanded, limiting gatherings to immediate households only province-wide. These changes take effect on Friday.

                            Saskatchewan's Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Saqib Shahab, and Health Minister Paul Merriman will provide a COVID-19 update at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. The press conference will be streamed live on CTVNewsRegina.ca and CTVNewsSaskatoon.ca.

                            Of the two deaths, one person was in their 30s and the other was in their 60s. Both were from the Regina zone.

                            There are 202 people in hospital in the province related to COVID-19, including 41 people in intensive care.

                            The 288 new cases are located Far North West (four), North West (31), North Central (five), North East (three), Saskatoon (44), Central West (two), Central East (22), Regina (117), South West (18), South Central (17) and South East (17) zones. Eight cases are pending residence information.

                            A total of 280 recoveries were reported. Saskatchewan has 2,555 active cases.
