      AFFECTED POPULATION DESCRIPTION
Avian influenza (AI) virus was detected in wild birds sick and dead along the lac. Fifteen wild birds were seen dead along the lac and these birds were sent to the National Animal Health and Production Research Institute (NAHPRI) laboratory and five wild birds were positive for AI virus. This area has a history of AI outbreak in 2021. Surveillance activity was implemented in this area and most of the samples were collected from domestic poultry and all samples were negative. Up to date no other wild bird sick or dead have been seen along the lac.
