Re: MOH press releases April 7 +.

Comparing the last two reports, the total cumulative cases rose from 13,061 to 13,088 (+17), but the number of confirmed cases only rose from 62 to 70 (+8). However previously, the number of confirmed cases reported dropped from 68 to 62.
I think that the first number in each report is the number of patients currently under treatment, this number can rise or fall.
The second number is the number of patients currently under treatment who have tested positive, this number can also rise or fall as patients are admitted and discharged. The fact that it is trending upward indicates increased flu activity in Malaysia.
The ICU number also seems to be current rather than cumulative as in two reports above it dropped from 7 to 4. Again though, this number is trending upward.
With regard to the Cumulative total, I don't know for sure if it's just confirmed cases, or if they include the suspect cases, but I think that overall it's too small to include all the suspect cases from last year, and too big to include all the suspect cases from 2010 alone.

Thanks RoRo. I went to the MOH site. Total cumulative cases of H1N1 started to be reported after the 1st of this year. I have a gap in my Case List thread, but will continue it from here on out.
