Bandar Seri Begawan - With the increasing number of HINI (Influenza A) cases in the nation, the government departments carried out their roles in ensuring the National Day celebration, which saw the participation and attendance of more than 20,000 individuals, was well protected by trained officers and staff.

Though the Ministry of Health gave the approval for the celebration to be carried out, paramedics were also trained to keep H1N1 at bay.According to Army paramedic Hasliza stationed at the scene, a contingency plan was been put in place should there have been a suspected H1N1 case.

Fortunately, no suspected cases were recorded. It was also mentioned that should a patient have shown symptoms of the influenza during the celebration, the individual would have been transported to RIPAS hospital and the people around him or her quarantined for precautionary measures.
