The military decided to cut the number of troops deployed to help slaughter avian-influenza infected poultry after news broke that a soldier may have contracted the disease.

However, the defense ministry was reluctant to do so, fearing families of the dispatched would claim the possibility of human infection of the disease.

None was added to WHO list of human confirmed cases because their illness didn't match clinical definitions for H5N1 influenza (ie: mild, asymptomatic cases). IOH
I don't understand the statement about 'two o three weeks to confirm tests' when it could be enough two o three days or less. Clearly, samples are going to be sent to a foreign laboratory. Rep. of Korea surely has technology and skill workers to get results in a couple of days. It's really disappointing delay.
