    NEWAYGO COUNTY, MI - Bovine tuberculosis was recently discovered in samples taken from a steer in Newaygo County.

    The 2-year-old animal was identified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety Inspection Service as possibly diseased and removed from the human food chain.

    The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development used the steer's electronic radio frequency identification to identify the farm in Newaygo County that sent the animal to slaughter...
