FWP confirms pigeon paramyxovirus outbreaks in Missoula and Ravalli counties

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has responded to multiple outbreaks of pigeon paramyxovirus (PPMV) in Missoula and Ravalli counties over the past few months. The disease has impacted Eurasian collared doves almost exclusively so far, with deaths of between 2 and 20 individuals per location reported.
The disease does not represent a substantial risk to humans or pets, but precautionary measures should still be taken to dispose of carcasses...
