Help curb the spread of HINI flu in C/R-DCE


Kasoa (C/R), April 5, GNA - Mr Nuhu Adams, District Chief Executive (DCE), for Awutu Senya has urged the authorities to help curb the spread of the HINI flu that has hit some communities in the Central Region. He advised the people of the area to adopt simple measures such as washing their hands with soap, avoid sleeping in overcrowded rooms and reporting any flu symptoms to the health authorities, to avoid catching the HINI virus.

Mr Adams made the call in an address read for him at the close of a four day Central Territorial Easter Convention of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) at Kasoa.

Mr Adams said reports indicated that, 12 out of 15 students suspected of catching the flu had proved positive after being tested at the Nugochi Memorial Research Institute in Accra.

He urged parents and guardians to impress upon their children to wash their hands with soap before taking their meals whiles efforts are being made by the government to curb the spread of the flu. The DCE said the symptoms of the flu may include severe colds, cough and sneezing, and urged that such ailments should be reported quickly at any clinic or hospital for treatment.
