The details of the case go back to the woman contracting a respiratory infection during her pregnancy, for which she received the necessary treatment. However, her health deteriorated rapidly, and she developed severe symptoms, including severe difficulty in breathing and movement, and a dangerous drop in blood oxygen levels, which necessitated her urgent transfer to Qasr El-Aini Hospitals.
Upon arrival at the emergency room, headed by Dr. Ahmed Maher, the patient was semi-conscious and immediately transferred to the recovery room and placed on a ventilator. However, despite intensive efforts, her oxygen saturation remained below 50%. Tests and X-rays revealed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), with a gradual drop in blood pressure, necessitating the administration of blood pressure-raising medication in the early morning hours.
