Chad-Covid 19: 33 confirmed cases, 08 cured and no deaths recorded

The Minister of Public Health this Sunday provided an update on the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic in Chad since its appearance on March 19, 2020.
Chad has 33 confirmed cases of Covid-19 coronavirus, including 08 cured and no deaths recorded. 24 patients are currently hospitalized at Farcha Provincial Hospital and one patient is hospitalized in Ab?ch?. All cases are linked to imported cases except one case whose investigations are underway to establish the epidemiological link.
To date, 3544 people have been quarantined, including students from affected countries and distributed in 12 provinces (Lake Chad, Logone Oriental, Logone Occindental, the two Moyo-Kebbi, Ouaddai, Wadi-fira, Salamat, N'djamena, Batha, Moyen-Chari and Kanem). A total of 2,070 people are out of quarantine after a 14-day follow-up and 1,474 people currently under quarantine.
The chain of transmission of the first 8 cases is completely broken because all the contacts linked to these cases are out of their quarantine after a 14-day medical follow-up. For the others the majority of their contact almost ended their quarantine. In the case of Ab?ch?, 227 direct and indirect contact persons have finished their quarantine and there are 33 contacts that are being followed up (80% of the chain is almost broken).
The global pandemic situation on April 19, 2020 is 2,343. 293 confirmed cases including 602,793 cured and 161,330 deaths (a fatality rate of 6.88%).
The first case of Covid-19 in Africa appeared in February 2020 in Egypt. And currently, a total of 52 out of 54 African countries are affected by this epidemic. On April 19, 2020, Africa registered a total of 21,080 confirmed cases, including more than 5,116 healed and 1,078 deaths (or a fatality of 4.93%).
