The Minister of Public Health this Sunday provided an update on the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic in Chad since its appearance on March 19, 2020.

Chad has 33 confirmed cases of Covid-19 coronavirus, including 08 cured and no deaths recorded. 24 patients are currently hospitalized at Farcha Provincial Hospital and one patient is hospitalized in Ab?ch?. All cases are linked to imported cases except one case whose investigations are underway to establish the epidemiological link.

To date, 3544 people have been quarantined, including students from affected countries and distributed in 12 provinces (Lake Chad, Logone Oriental, Logone Occindental, the two Moyo-Kebbi, Ouaddai, Wadi-fira, Salamat, N'djamena, Batha, Moyen-Chari and Kanem). A total of 2,070 people are out of quarantine after a 14-day follow-up and 1,474 people currently under quarantine.

The chain of transmission of the first 8 cases is completely broken because all the contacts linked to these cases are out of their quarantine after a 14-day medical follow-up. For the others the majority of their contact almost ended their quarantine. In the case of Ab?ch?, 227 direct and indirect contact persons have finished their quarantine and there are 33 contacts that are being followed up (80% of the chain is almost broken).

The global pandemic situation on April 19, 2020 is 2,343. 293 confirmed cases including 602,793 cured and 161,330 deaths (a fatality rate of 6.88%).

The first case of Covid-19 in Africa appeared in February 2020 in Egypt. And currently, a total of 52 out of 54 African countries are affected by this epidemic. On April 19, 2020, Africa registered a total of 21,080 confirmed cases, including more than 5,116 healed and 1,078 deaths (or a fatality of 4.93%).

In Mongo, the departmental watch committee for the fight against the pandemic of Covid-19, in collaboration with the agents of the Red Cross of Chad, organized Wednesday morning an awareness session on the modern market of the city, chief town of the province of Gu?ra.

This awareness raising took place in the presence of the coordinator of the watch committee, Abba Djiddi Bara?mi, also secretary general of the department of Gu?ra, the members of the committee as well as the volunteers of the Red Cross.

The population was made aware of a simple but fairly often overlooked gesture: hand washing, correctly.

In his intervention, the coordinator of the committee stressed that this awareness is part of the preventive measures taken by the government to fight against the coronavirus.

According to him, the population is the first target of the various sensitizations because it is it which constitutes the major factor of development.

The population did not hide their satisfaction with this awareness-raising action by the committee, which helped to avoid the spread of the pandemic.

To date, Chad has registered 40 cases of Covid-19. He has eight healed and 0 deaths.

The Ministry of Public Health informs the public that as of April 25, 2020, the health situation related to the coronavirus pandemic is as follows:

- 70 samples analyzed;
- 6 new confirmed cases;
- 31 patients on treatment;
- 15 patients cured;
- 0 cases of death.

The patients' state of health is stable.

Since March 19, 2020, for the whole country, 46 cases of Covid-19 have been recorded, including 41 of male and 5 of female.

The Ministry of Public Health once again reminds us of strict compliance with barrier measures. He informed the population that continuity of care was ensured in all hospitals despite the introduction of a curfew.

Coronavirus: Chad exceeds 70 cases, with 21 new infections

The Ministry of Public Health has just announced today, April 30, 21 new cases of covid-19. To date, 73 cases of covid-19 have been recorded, including 59 men and 14 women.

35 people are in care and 33 cases of healings are declared. Unfortunately, 3 new cases of death are added to the 2 cases announced on April 27, 2020. Nothing, however, was given as information on these cases of death due to coronavirus.

Chad recorded 49 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, the largest increase in infections since the first case was reported in March, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Chadian Ministry of Public Health.

These 49 new cases were detected on 122 samples. Seven new deaths have also been declared, according to the press release, which specifies that these latest deaths took place outside the Farcha hospital, dedicated to the fight against the coronavirus.

The Ministry of Public Health took stock of the cases of contamination linked to the Coronavirus this Thursday. 27 new cases are to be reported.

According to the Ministry of Public Health, as of May 14, there are 27 new confirmed cases, 5 sick patients, 2 deceased patients and 270 patients on treatment. 3 suspect bodies were tested, including 2 positive.

In total, since March 19, Chad has recorded 399 cases, of which 318 were male and 81 female. There are also 83 cured patients and 46 deaths.
