    Manitoba health officials say the province has 40 new COVID-19 cases.

    As of Thursday, Manitoba had 167 probable and confirmed cases. One person has died, five people were in hospital and 11 have recovered.

    Dr. Brent Roussin, the province’s chief public health officer, confirmed on Wednesday Manitoba is now seeing cases of community transmission.,,

      Manitoba health officials say another person has died in Manitoba due to the novel coronavirus and has recorded an additional 15 cases.

      Dr. Brent Roussin, the province’s chief public health officer, said the person who died was a man in his 50s with underlying medical conditions. He was in the intensive care unit before he died.

      As of Friday morning, this brings Manitoba’s total to 182 probable and confirmed COVID-19 cases. Two people have died, nine people were in hospital with six in intensive care and 11 have recovered...

        WINNIPEG -- Provincial health officials announced 12 new cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba and the opening of a self-isolation centre during a news conference Saturday morning.

        Dr. Brent Roussin, the province's chief public health officer, said there are no additional deaths, but ten are in hospital, with six in intensive care.

        The 12 new cases brings Manitoba's total to 194 probable and confirmed COVID-19 cases....

              WINNIPEG -- A third person in Manitoba has died from COVID-19, the province has confirmed.

              Dr. Brent Roussin, chief provincial public health officer, made the announcement Tuesday afternoon during the daily COVID-19 update.

              Roussin said the man who died was his 60s from Winnipeg, and had underlying health conditions.The man was in intensive care.

              “I extend my condolences to the family and friends,” Roussine said.

              A total of 13 new cases were announced, bringing the province’s total to 217...

                Eighteen health-care workers in the Winnipeg health region and two in Manitoba's Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority have tested positive for COVID-19, Shared Health chief nursing officer Lanette Siragusa said Wednesday.

                Of the 18 in Winnipeg, 10 are health-care workers from the Health Sciences Centre who were exposed to an outbreak that Siragusa announced at Tuesday's news conference, she confirmed.

                "This outbreak is obviously very concerning to all of us, and protecting our staff and our patients is [of] utmost important to us," she said.

                On Tuesday, that outbreak was classified as a respiratory illness, and officials said they were testing people exposed for COVID-19...

                      Manitoba’s public health officials announced 13 new cases of COVID-19 in the province Saturday. That brings the total number of cases in Manitoba to 243.

                      There are now 143 active COVID-19 cases, while 96 have recovered — those who have recovered from the illness or who have died are not included in the active caseload by public health.

                      The province is now looking at procuring reusable masks within Manitoba, chief nursing officer Lannette Siragusa said Saturday, as a potential solution to the global shortage of N95 masks...

                          ...There were no new cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba as of Easter Sunday. A probable case was determined to be a false positive, so the case count stands at 246.

                          Eight people are hospitalized, four in ICU. Four people have died and 99 have recovered.

                                Another four cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Manitoba. As of Thursday morning at 9:30, the total number of lab-confirmed positive and probable positive cases in Manitoba is 250.

                                Within Southern Health, there are 28 total cases. Of those, 23 are confirmed positive, while the other five are probable positive.

                                The data also shows:
                                • eight individuals are currently hospitalized, which includes four individuals in intensive care;
                                • 124 active cases and 121 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19; and
                                • the number of deaths due to COVID-19 remains at five...
