Oita Prefecture confirms bird flu infection

Another case of bird flu infection has been detected in Oita Prefecture in southwestern Japan, where officials are battling to stop the virus from spreading.

38 chickens were found dead on Wednesday afternoon at a poultry farm in Oita City, home to some 8,100 birds. Preliminary tests on the dead birds confirmed the virus.
Authorities later confirmed Japan's 11th bird flu outbreak.....

Culling of chicken ends in Oita

Authorities in Oita Prefecture, southwestern Japan, have ended culling all 8,100 chickens at a poultry farm where the first case of avian flu in the prefecture this winter was detected.
