Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 24th (Reporter Hu Yan) The reporter learned from the Ministry of Science and Technology that emergency science and technology research projects will be launched at the national level, focusing on virus traceability, transmission routes, establishment of animal models, infection and pathogenic mechanisms, and rapid immunology. Deployment of 10 methods including detection methods, genomic mutation and evolution, optimized treatment plan for critically ill patients, research and development of emergency protection antibodies, rapid vaccine development, and prevention and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine.
The Ministry of Science and Technology was established in conjunction with the National Health and Health Commission, the Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the General Administration of Customs, the Forestry and Grass Bureau, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Drug Administration, the Chinese Medicine Bureau, and the Logistics Support Department of the Central Military Commission. The scientific research group organizes and coordinates the nation's leading scientific research forces to make every effort to prevent and control scientific and technological problems.
Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology organized the "first meeting of the scientific research group of the new coronavirus joint prevention and control working mechanism". Li Lanjuan, Academician Wang Chen, Academician Zhang Boli, Academician Chen Wei, Academician Wang Fusheng and other experts in infectious diseases, Chinese medicine and drug development attended the meeting and conducted consultation and demonstration of the first batch of emergency projects.
The meeting announced the establishment of an expert group for scientific research on the new mechanism of joint prevention and control of pneumonia epidemic of new coronavirus infection with Academician Zhong Nanshan as the team leader and 14 experts. The meeting requested that all relevant departments and scientific research units act immediately, step up scientific research and development, highlight the urgent need for prevention and control, give full play to the consulting role of the expert group, and strive to provide scientific and technological support for front-line prevention and control treatment.
At present, the first batch of eight emergency response projects of the "new-type coronavirus-infected pneumonia epidemic response" has been launched urgently, and funding has been allocated.
