Meningitis has broken out in northern Zambia?s Kasama town killing one person while 10 others are receiving treatment, state media reported on Tuesday.

The disease has broken out in a suburb of the provincial capital and the government has since mobilized logistics to curb the spread of the disease by dispatching specialized doctors to the town, according to Deputy Health Minister Chilufya Chitalu...

Meningitis cases increase is at St Theresa Girls' Secondary School

The Reported cases of meningitis at St Theresa Girls' Secondary School in Kasama District of Northern Province has hit 21 with a Catholic nun Also contracting the disease.

And one of the pupils, who were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Kasama General Hospital after contracting meningitis, has been evacuated to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka for further treatment.
