GOVERNMENT says there is no need for anxiety over an outbreak of a highly contagious viral disease, chickenpox.
Deputy Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya said yesterday that there is no need for fear because the outbreak is sporadic and no deaths have been recorded.

?I wish to assure Zambians that there is no need to worry. This [chickenpox] outbreak is very sporadic,? Dr Chilufya said.
He said the Ministry of Health has put in place measures to contain the disease.
Dr Chilufya said there are 49 active cases of chickenpox in Lusaka.
Some of the affected townships in the city are Mandevu, Chawama and Mtendere.
Dr Chilufya said a further 178 cases were reported on the Copperbelt between January and this month...
