Yuma County man dies from swine flu complications

YUMA, Ariz. (AP) - Yuma County health officials are reporting the county's first death this year from the swine flu virus.

The Yuma County Public Health Services District says a man in his 40s died Friday from complications of swine flu.

No other information on the man was released because of privacy issues.

Health officials say 31 people around Arizona have now died from complications linked to the swine flu virus.

ANDERSEN, MICHAEL CHRISTIAN Dec. 1, 1959 to Oct. 9, 2009 Mike passed away October 9, 2009, in Yuma, Arizona, from flu complications. His family was at his side. Mike moved his family to Yuma to start a new chapter 2 ½ years ago. Mike spent most of his life in San Diego. Mike was a great friend to all who were lucky enough to call him a friend. He was most of all, a dedicated husband and father. He loved his wife and son very much. He will be missed deeply. Mike is survived by his wife Rosa, son Michael, mother Nancy, brother Cory, and sisters Linda, Tracy, Sharon and Sally. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22nd, at Sonrise Community Church, 8805 North Magnolia Avenue, Santee, CA 92071.
