Young woman with sickle-cell anemia dies after vaccine against virus H1N1

The young person Michele Santos, of only 19 years, died after to take vaccine against virus H1N1 in the last Wednesday (21), in post of PSF in the Street of the Miracles, in the district of Christ, in John Pessoa. Michele was a bearer of falcate anaemia.

In agreement with Michele's father, she began to pass badly, having nausea and consequent vomiting, being taken to the hospital Edson Ramalho, located in the district Thirteen of May, in Saturday (24). Reaching the place, the girl started to have pains in the leg, being interned up to coming to death for generalized infection. The cause of the death is still being investigated.

Michele had falcate anaemia from child and Lauro Wanderley was treated in the University Hospital. With help of the medicines, the adolescent was leading a normal life.

Falcate anaemia (or depranocitose) is the name given to a hereditary disease that causes the m?-formation of the red blood cells, which assume similar form to scythes (of where the name of the disease comes), with bigger or less severity in accordance with the case, which causes deficiency of the transport of gases in the individuals attacked by the disease.
* The body of the young person is being veiled from to 19h of this Tuesday in the block of the Municipal School Augusto of the Angels, where it was studying. The funeral must be carried out in the afternoon of this Wednesday (28), in the Cemetery of Redeeming Christ Michele it would do 20 years in 4 of May. She was married and it leaves two children.
