Re: Young people die - WHO Rated XXX (only mature audiences allowed to look)
As we are not the primary host of influenza A viruses, there is no reason to believe it will soften its blow on humanity to ensure its own survival. We are a dead end for the virus. If all of the ducks were still dying it would need to either find a new host reservoir, or change.
Having said that, I still believe it will ameliorate its power. The virus is so unstable it will change in any case. With millions of people as viral factories, there will eventually be pressure to lessen its killing power. It will also meet up with human strains already circulating, play mix and match and we will have some cross-immunity.* The question is, will it do so right before it accomplishes efficient h2h or sometime afterward?
* Fingers crossed the more familiar strains don't increase in their killing potential.
