A young girl from Glaamdalen area has died of swine flu, according to glomdalen.no. The girl received treatment at the National Hospital, and died there on Sunday evening.
Information Manager at Rikshospitalet, Selva Kosiander, confirmed that the girl was infected with swine flu.
- I can confirm that it matches. There is talk of a female patient from Hedmark who are under 20 years, says Kosiander to Dagbladet.no.
The girl was in one of the risk groups for swine influenza, according to pandemi.no.
13 of the 15 dead in Norway belonged to a risk group.
This is thus the 15th death in Norway caused by swine flu. It is also the second death in Hedmark, where one woman in 60 years last week was confirmed dead due to swine influenza.
Friday last week it was proven by laboratory tests in 2820 infected persons in Norway, according to pandemi.no. But calculations made with a variety of subjects, suggests that about 175 000 people may have been sick so far.
