Bird Flu Preparations Reviewed

SANA'A - A meeting to review the state of preparations in case of a potential outbreak of bird flu was held on Saturday.
The meeting of the Higher National Committee was co-chaired by Abdul-Karim Rase, the Minister of Public Health and Population, and Jalal Faqira, the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation.
The meeting reviewed recent reports sent to the two ministries listing the precautions taken to ward off the epidemic. They repeated reassurances that Yemen has no reported cases.
An expert from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) read out a report made on the virus and notes on Yemen?s national plan. He made recommendations to reinforce the plan.
