Breaking News: Wyoming Reports First Coronavirus Case

Testing by the Wyoming Public Health Laboratory has discovered the presence of COVID-19, also known as the novel coronavirus, in a Wyoming resident for the first time.

The state's first case is a woman from Sheridan County with "some recent domestic travel history."

The announcement was made by the Wyoming Department of Health following President Donald *****'s address to the nation Wednesday...

...Health officials have linked the man to a previously identified coronavirus case in Sheridan County, according to the Wyoming Department of Health. On Wednesday, officials announced that a Sheridan County woman was the state's first known patient infected with Covid-19.

LARAMIE COUNTY, Wy. (Wyoming News Now) UPDATE at 9:45pm
Four more cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed by the Wyoming Department of Health.

According to a release from the WDH, the new cases involve an adult female in Park County, an adult female in Laramie County, an adult male in Sheridan County and an adult female in Sheridan County. No more information is available at this time regarding the Park. The two Sheridan County cases are close contacts of two previously identified cases from the county.

In a post on social media, Amy Surdam of the Stitches Acute Care Center in Cheyenne said the new Laramie County case involves an otherwise healthy 49-year-old female. The woman was tested in her car and Surdam says all proper protocols were followed to perform the test...
