Ok, I didn't realize we have the option of buying the vax but not taking the shot. If that is part of this scenario, ...
... But to take the shot today, my answer is still no.

I supposed we need not take the shot now, for infected hot zones I don't know.
My answer for taking a shot now when nothing started (we hope) was also negative
("Yes, stored preventively, but inoculated only at the early start of the pandemic.").

I think, the vaccine is good for 3 years, when you don't take it.
When you do take it only for one year.

Approximately. Depends on the vaccine.

Also, some "sort" of immunity should last longer, I'm not sure.

I think I read in one of the FDA documents that Sanofi (?) vax has a shelf life of 18 months once it is mixed. I don't remember seeing any info on how long the powder can be stored.

Here:The vaccine will be supplied as a suspension in 5 mL multi-dose vials and the 18-month shelf life is inclusive of the time that the product is held in filled final containers at 2-8oC prior to packaging.
