Workshop on 'Avian Influenza' held in Berhampur
By Santanu Barad

Berhampur ( Orissa) : A workshop on Avian Influenza was held here in the city on Monday.

It was organized by the veterinary department of Berhampur in which experts and veterinary doctors from across the state were present to deliver their lecture in order to train the staffs who would go to the rural areas to create awareness among the people with a view to prevent the infections.

According to Dr. Subrat Moahapatra of ASCAD, Cuttack, avian influenza was not so commonly found in human. Normally, it was infected through the birds.

However people should be careful and should take all the precautions to prevent the bird flue. Among others present were Dr. SN Mohapatra (CDVO), Dr. RC Pradhan (Deputy Director) and Dr. PK Ptanaik (SDVO).
