Updated 3:00 PM EDT, Wed, Oct 28, 2009

A 64-year-old woman has died after contracting swine flu. She died Tuesday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London.

Hospital officials said she was a confirmed swine flu patient when she was admitted and had underlying medical conditions.

The hospital official did not know when she was admitted and could not provide more information on the patient.

The hospital has issued visitor restrictions and no one under 18 is allowed to visit patients.

The state Web site reports two swine flu deaths between Aug. 30 and Oct. 27, one in Fairfield Counry and one in Litchfield County. It is unclear if this case is included in the count.

Between April 2009 and Aug. 29, 10 people died of swine flu in the state.
