APPLETON ? Whooping cough has been confirmed at nine Appleton schools and at least 42 people have been infected, according to the Appleton Health Department.

On Thursday, Health Officer Kurt Eggebrecht said whooping cough has been identified at Berry Elementary School, Classical School, Ferber Elementary School, Huntley Elementary School, Kaleidoscope Academy, North High School, Roosevelt Middle School, St. Joseph Middle School and West High School..

Health Department says whooping cough cases way up

Eau Claire (WQOW)- A local health department says whooping cough cases were way up in 2011, and are already in double digits to begin 2012.

The Eau Claire County Health Department says so far this winter, 59 cases were reported; 13 of those cases have been just this year...

?One case has been confirmed in the Eau Claire Montessori School and in a child. And we are currently contacting the family members of the child,? said Director of the Health Department, Richard Thoune.

Madison WI ? February 2, 2012 - There were 22 cases of pertussis reported in Dane County in December, and 20 cases reported in January, with a handful more waiting for confirmation. Normally we would expect no more than 2 or 3 cases per month...

Durand (WQOW) - An area school district is keeping an eye on a handful of whooping cough cases.

The Pepin County Health Department has confirmed five cases of whooping cough in the Durand Area School District. All the cases are from the past four or five weeks. The health department says for the most part the cases aren't related. The school district has put information on its web site letting parents know what to look for...

Eau Claire County (WQOW) - More whooping cough cases are being reported.

The Eau Claire City-County Health Department says it's had 10 new cases so far this month. There have been 81 altogether since mid-November. Most have been coming from Eau Claire, Fall Creek and Altoona...

It comes as city health officials also deal with a confirmed case of tuberculosis at North High School. That confirmed case of tuberculosis was reported last week...

Outbreaks of whooping cough have made children sick in Wauwatosa during the past six weeks, so the Wauwatosa Health Department is reminding people to get vaccinated to prevent the further spread of the disease.

The initial cases involved people who live outside of Wauwatosa but are enrolled in local schools and day care facilities, Nursing Supervisor Lori Nielson said. They passed the disease onto children who live within the city...

ANTIGO - Several counties accross the state are reporting outbreaks of Pertussis. An infection commonly known as whooping cough.

According to the Langlade County Health Department, Ron Barger, there have been seven reported cases of whooping cough throughout the public schools since January 1st, affecting all ages.

Barger said those numbers are low in comparison to surrounding counties, but the school has not seen an outbreak for some time...

A student at Southview Elementary is the county?s latest confirmed case of whooping cough.

The Chippewa County Department of Public Health confirmed to school district parents and employees Wednesday that the student was infected with Pertussis bacteria? more commonly known as the whooping cough.

Neither school district staff nor county Public Heath Director Jean Durch would disclose the age or grade level of the infected student, citing the confidentiality of a single case...
