WHO warns: the current situation could change at any time

Regional Director of WHO's Eastern Mediterranean, d.'s Algerian, addressed to all ministries of health in the region, especially Egypt, the regional headquarters of the Organization, stressing that the status quo may be changing rapidly, and due to the overestimation of the recognition or the current threats to global health, but simply due to the pattern of a pandemic influenza virus, lasting change in an unpredictable way, noting that the Organization is closely monitoring the situation in the world.
He called on health ministers of Algeria and the necessity of cooperation and transparency, he thanked the solidarity provided by Member States in the region in response to the appeal of the World Health Organization to meet the current threat of pandemic influenza and to stand in front of one face of this threat, stressing the need to preserve all the Member States at the highest level of alert and vigilance, and one of the most important priorities is to ensure fair and equitable economy for the new vaccine for all the countries of the region, immediately after the completion of the vaccine.

وجه المدير الإقليمى لمنظمة الصحة العالمية لشرق المتوسط، د.حسين الجزائرى، خطابا إلى جميع وزارات الصحة فى الإقليم، وعلى رأسهم مصر، المقر الإقليمى للمنظمة مشدداً على أن الوضع الراهن قد يتغير على نحو سريع، ولا يرجع ذلك إلى مبالغة فى تقدير أو إدراك منظمة الصحة العالمية بالتهديدات الحالية، ولكن يرجع ببساطة إلى أن نمط فيروس جائحة الإنفلونزا دائم التغيير بطريقة لا يمكن التنبؤ بها مشيرا أن المنظمة ترصد عن قرب الوضع العالمى.

وطالب الجزائرى وزراء الصحة بضرورة التعاون والشفافية، شاكرا التضامن الذى قدمته الدول الأعضاء فى الإقليم استجابة لنداء منظمة الصحة العالمية لمواجهة التهديد الراهن لجائحة الأنفلونزا والوقوف فى جبهة واحدة أمام هذا التهديد، مؤكدا ضرورة حفاظ جميع الدول الأعضاء على أعلى مستوى من التأهب واليقظة، وأن إحدى أهم أولوياته هو ضمان التوفير العادل والمتساوى للقاح الجديد لجميع بلدان الإقليم، وذلك فور الانتهاء من إعداد اللقاح.

قام المكتب الإقليمى من خلال مكاتب التمثيل القطرية لمنظمة الصحة العالمية بإجراء تقييم سريع للاحتياجات الحالية للدول الأعضاء بغية مواجهة التهديد الحالى لجائحة الإنفلونزا كجزء من خطة التصدى العالمى.
