Two adults from Whiteside County in Illinois died over the Thanksgiving weekend from the H1N1 pandemic influenza.

Neither person appeared to have underlying conditions that led to their deaths
, said Beth Fiorini, executive director of the Whiteside County Clinic, Rock Falls, Ill.

Both were between 25 and 64 years old and were transported to hospitals outside the area for additional treatment before their deaths, Fiorini added.

In October, an elderly Rock Island County resident died of complications from the H1N1 influenza virus, the first in the Illinois Quad-City area. The individual was older than 65 and had underlying health conditions.

No H1N1-related deaths have been tied specifically to the Iowa Quad-Cities, although several deaths have been reported in greater eastern Iowa.

The Whiteside County Health Department hosts H1N1 vaccine walk-in clinics for priority groups targeted by the Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta. The clinics are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m., at the health department, 1300 W. 2nd St., Rock Falls. The clinic is directly across from Rock Falls High School.
