MASSACHUSETTS — Pedestrian deaths are skyrocketing in Massachusetts, as well as the majority of U.S. states, according to a report Thursday that compares the number of people killed while walking during the first six months of the past three years.

In Massachusetts, pedestrian fatalities from Jan. 1-June 30 increased 100 percent last year compared to 2020, according to the Governors Highway Safety Association report. That's an increase of 18 deaths...
