What do you think is going on in Egypt?

Re: What do you think is going on in Egypt?

Perhaps the Egyptian authorities know that they are dealing mostly with seasonal flu, but are letting the population become alarmed so that changes can more easily be made regarding the custom of raising backyard chickens. Just a thought.

Seasonal Type A flu is a reality. The only way they can identify it (H1 H3 or, Heaven forbid, H5) in the severe cases is to hospitalize the patient and conduct tests. With Tamiflu being given automatically, a lot of the tests are negative.
