FluTrackers as a website was initiated long before the patients all over the world begin to experience a new H1N1 pandemic. No body could predict a H1N1 pandemic at that stage. FluTrackers provides a unique forum for the patients to express their concerns. We as medical professionals express the views of our patients as some of their voice is not heard anywhere else. Especially, poor patients in our countries do not even have access to internet. FluTrackers is a unique website where large amounts of information from all over the world are collected in a single forum. We thank all administrators and the contributors regarding their continuous updates provided for the benefit of the public.

A recent death in my family reminded me last weekend how fragile life is and how special is the human spirit.

It is with a heavy heart that I attended the conference in Washington D.C. to deliver a message from FluTrackers.

We delivered a message of hope. Of compassion. Of concern for all humanity.

We stopped the show when we spoke.

Everyone listened. There was silence.

Us. A small discussion forum on the internet created by volunteers from around the world.

Giving advice to the government and encouragement to major media outlets in the U.S.

Delivering a message of self determination. Individual choice and responsibility. Of respect for the human spirit.

To the highest office in the land.

For those who are disappointed we attended, I am sorry.

For those who have helped us shine light on the darkness, thank you. Your voice was heard.

In 2004, I began to research flu (H5N1) out of curiosity and then concern for my loved ones. At some point, my concern broadened to society and the implications of a pandemic.

I made my rounds of the flu forums until settling here at FT. Having no prior experience in the science of flu, public health, emergency planning, et al., meant I was faced with a steep learning curve. It has been a full time job most of the time since 2004 (with the exception of the last year). I contribute what I can and continue to share what I have learned. I am humbled by those who are on the front lines everyday planning and protecting the public.

Hoping and praying for the best, but planning for the worst.....:tiphat:
