Influenza Test Results by Type, weeks 46-48: All 3 are type A; one of which is 2009 H1N1.

The number of ILI cases is up this week but still below levels seen during the previous 3 seasons for this week. The percent of ILI visits is still trending below the 2% baseline.

There have been 10 positive tests this week and they are all type A.

1 new pediatric death was reported this week by the CDC.

ILI reported by BioSense enrolled hospitals: 3.5%

There have been no positive test results for flu B since wk 52.

I think this season's trend is interesting when compared to the others.
